Regulatory Affairs

<strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Regulatory Affairs &amp; Policy Advocacy:</li><ul><li>Monitor, interpret, and analyse government policies, regulatory developments, and Regulatory matters affecting renewable energy projects (solar, wind, hybrid, etc.).</li><li>Prepare and finalise petitions, replies, and rejoinders for regulatory authorities (State/Central Commissions, Tribunals, Courts).</li><li>Represent the company before regulatory bodies, government agencies (e.g., MoP, MNRE, SECI, NTPC, State Utilities, Discoms), and industry associations.</li><li>Liaise with government departments for project clearances, permits, and statutory compliance (including PPA and local statutory requirements).</li><li>Track and report on policy developments, case laws, and regulatory updates at both central and state levels.</li><li>Provide strategic support for business development, project management, and regulatory functions, including research and maintaining MIS for regulatory/litigation matters.</li><li>Support internal teams with regulatory expertise and ensure compliance with evolving frameworks. </li></ul><li>Business Strategy &amp; Project Support:</li><ul><li>Contribute to business strategy planning, M&amp;A, PPA management, and energy accounting.</li><li>Support pre- and post-project development activities, including government relations, strategy, policy advocacy, and commissioning.</li><li>Resolve discrepancies and issues to ensure smooth business operations.</li><li>Conduct due diligence and power studies, especially for grid connectivity and project feasibility. </li></ul><li>Stakeholder Engagement:</li><ul><li>Engage with regulatory authorities, clients, and internal teams to develop optimal solutions aligned with organisational goals.</li><li>Represent the company in public hearings, forums, and industry events to advocate for business interests. </li></ul><li>Key Skills &amp; Qualifications</li><ul><li>In-depth understanding of power sector regulations in India, especially in the renewable energy domain.</li><li>Experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, compliance management, and project lifecycle management.</li><li>Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.</li><li>Educational background in engineering (mechanical, electrical, etc.), law, or management (MBA/PG in Power/Energy Management preferred).</li><li>Proven ability to manage teams and work cross-functionally.</li><li>Prior experience in open access, PPA mandates, and regulatory compliance is highly valued. </li></ul><li>Typical Activities</li><ul><li>Drafting and submitting regulatory documents and responses.</li><li>Analysing the impact of regulatory changes on business operations.</li><li>Maintaining close coordination with state and central agencies, nodal agencies, and industry bodies.</li><li>Keeping abreast of market trends, regulatory shifts, and emerging opportunities.</li><li>Supporting business development and project management with regulatory insights. <br></li></ul></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Educational background in engineering (mechanical, electrical, etc.), law, or management (MBA/PG in Power/Energy Management preferred).</li><li>In-depth understanding of power sector regulations in India, especially in the renewable energy domain.</li><li>Experience in regulatory affairs, policy analysis, compliance management, and project lifecycle management.</li><li>Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.</li><li>Proven ability to manage teams and work cross-functionally.</li><li>Prior experience in open access, PPA mandates, and regulatory compliance is highly valued. </li><li>Experience in Regulatory domain for 10 + years</li></ul>
