R&D System Engineer - e-Mobility - India Development Centre

<strong>The opportunity<br><br></strong>Able to lead a team with strong people management skills, to deliver the value, expected from the team. The team manager is expected to define and implement both long term and short-term strategies, for the team, as per the overall organization strategy.<br><br><strong>How You’ll Make An Impact<br><br></strong><ul><li>Contribute to R&amp;D projects from the initial concept stage to final product rollout.</li><li>You will be responsible for the overall electrical system including selection of appropriate ratings (power, voltage, current) of the equipment, selection of on-board battery energy and voltage levels or agreeing these with other partners, e.g., bus OEMs.</li><li>Designing the overall charging system based on an understanding of the dependence on the above.</li><li>Develop and assess protection concepts for low voltage - low power charger (100kW 600V DC).</li><li>Develop and assess protection concepts for high power chargers (1500kW 1500V DC).</li><li>Develop system simulations for grid code compliance (THDi, THDu, power factor, DC ripple etc.).</li><li>System design, SLD &amp; MLD (single- and multi-lines diagrams), BOM (bill of materials).</li><li>Write tutorial, guidelines, test procedures, report templates for engineering and commissioning engineers.</li><li>Write technical specifications for internal and external suppliers.</li><li>Benchmark and cost evaluation.</li><li>Audit, assessment of external partners, including power electronic converter part.</li><li>Lab testing (heat-run, EMC, noise, electrical endurance), official type tests certification, factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, commissioning, end-user training at a domestic and international level.</li><li>Support customer project tendering and execution activities.</li><li>You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.</li><li>Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Your background<br><br></strong><ul><li>Degree (University/University of Applied Sciences) in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power Electronics and Control.</li><li>Industrial experience with low voltage power converters is an advantage</li><li>Proficiency in the use of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD.</li><li>Experience with low voltage and medium voltage network distribution would be an advantage</li><li>Experience with DC network &amp; Energy Storage Systems (battery, supercaps, BMS) would be an advantage</li><li>Experience in eRoom, outdoor panel, cooling design, and noise attenuation would be an advantage</li><li>Team spirit with the capacity to work independently, complemented by a quick intellect and well-developed analytical skills</li><li>Experience working in an Agile development team would be preferred</li><li>Experience in working with IEC standard, ANSI etc.</li><li>Proficiency in both spoken &amp; written English language is required.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>More About Us<br><br></strong>Are you ready for an exciting new Opportunity?
