Project Engineer - Green Metals

We are recognised for our culture, innovation and industry-leading development of infrastructure, mining assets and green energy initiatives.<br><br><strong> Work Location: </strong> Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.<br><br><strong> Roster: </strong> Monday to Friday<br><br>Support the delivery of Fortescue's Green Metals and decarbonisation initiatives through engineering studies, pilot projects and technology development programmes. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to project planning, engineering coordination and stakeholder engagement across the Research &amp; Development portfolio, helping advance innovative technologies that support Fortescue's long-term green energy and green metals strategy.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br><br></strong><ul><li>Support the delivery of Green Metals and technology development projects from concept studies through execution planning</li><li>Coordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams, consultants and technology partners</li><li>Assist with project planning, scheduling, reporting and the tracking of milestones, actions and key risks</li><li>Contribute to engineering studies, technology assessments and the development of technical documentation</li><li>Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, HAZIDs and risk assessments</li><li>Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Research &amp; Development, Engineering, Operations and Project Development</li><li>Support project governance, stage-gate processes and compliance with Fortescue standards and safety requirements</li><li>Prepare project reports, presentations and maintain accurate project documentation and records</li><li>Monitor project progress and provide timely updates to project leadership</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned across project delivery. <br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience<br><br><br></strong><ul><li>Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline</li><li>Minimum of 7-10 years industry experience</li><li>Experience in project engineering within mining, minerals processing, energy, heavy industry or technology development</li><li>Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects across study or project delivery phases</li><li>Understanding of engineering studies, project development and capital project delivery</li><li>Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and coordination skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment</li><li>Knowledge of project governance, risk management and engineering management principles</li><li>Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Experience preparing technical documentation, project reports and engineering deliverables</li><li>Commitment to safe work practices and collaborative team environments. <br><br><br></li></ul>Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
