DESRI is run by a dynamic team with offices located at New York, Denver, and Hyderabad (India).<br><br><strong>About The Role<br><br></strong>We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join our DESRI group, based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind and solar energy projects in an agile environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.<br><br><strong>What You'll Do<br><br></strong>As a Manager – Legal &amp; Compliance, you will be responsible for providing legal support across DESRI’s construction and procurement function for renewable energy projects in the United States. In doing so, you will collaborate with developers, project managers, procurement professionals, construction teams, and attorneys within the various offices of DESRI to address ongoing matters pertaining to pre-construction, construction, and procurement activities.<br><br>Your day-to-day tasks will include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating engineering, procurement and construction agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, master service agreements, professional services agreements, and related scopes of work; reviewing and supporting procurement agreements for transformer, spare parts, logistics agreements for the transportation of equipment to projects and related change orders.<br><br>You will also provide support and oversight to team members in the Hyderabad office working on DESRI’s pre-construction and construction activities. In addition, you will contribute to internal training and development by helping educate business teams and support staff on legal policies, contracting procedures, documentation standards, and practical legal and compliance considerations.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong>The ideal candidate should hold –<br><br><ul><li>A bachelor’s degree in law with a proven record of academic achievement and 5-7 years of relevant experience, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating pre-construction, construction agreements, and procurement documents such as engineering, procurement and construction agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, master service agreements, professional services agreements, scopes of work, purchase orders, change orders, and related notices and correspondence.</li><li>Well-developed analytical abilities, communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail, along with a deep interest in exploring and learning new areas of the law.</li><li>A keen sense of judgement, a demonstrated ability to take initiative, and ability to collaborate with colleagues in support of highly complex transactions.</li><li>Experience in law firms/mix of law firm and in-house.</li><li>Experience in renewable energy, construction, infrastructure, procurement, or project development industry is preferred. Experience supporting contracting processes for pre-construction, construction, and EPC-related services is a plus.</li></ul>
