We support public institutions, international organizations, researchers, and local stakeholders in designing and implementing projects related to climate change adaptation, mitigation, climate finance, natural resources, agriculture, and resilience in vulnerable contexts.</p><p>Our work aims to bridge climate knowledge and practical decision-making, ensuring that technical research and policy processes are connected to the needs of communities, institutions, and end users.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>We are looking for a motivated and organized junior-level Business Development Specialist to support OIKO’s proposal development, resource mobilization, partnership engagement, and project pipeline management.</p><p>This role is suitable for candidates at the beginning of their professional career in business development, proposal writing, sustainability, climate, international development, or related fields. The position offers the opportunity to gain direct experience in preparing proposals for international donors and organizations, including institutions such as the World Bank, European Union, UN agencies, regional development banks, and other development partners.</p><p>The selected candidate will work closely with OIKO’s directors, project managers, technical experts, and external partners to identify opportunities, coordinate proposal preparation, and support the development of high-quality applications.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Main responsibilities</strong></p><p>The Business Development Specialist will support the team in the following areas:</p><ul><li>Researching, identifying, and monitoring relevant project and funding opportunities.</li><li>Supporting the preparation of expressions of interest, technical proposals, financial proposals, and other application documents.</li><li>Coordinating inputs from technical experts, partners, and internal team members.</li><li>Supporting the development of methodologies, work plans, budgets, team structures, and proposal annexes.</li><li>Helping maintain and update OIKO’s business development pipeline.</li><li>Supporting communication with potential partners, consultants, institutions, and clients.</li><li>Contributing to market research and strategic analysis for priority regions and sectors.</li><li>Supporting quality control, formatting, editing, and timely submission of proposal documents.</li><li>Assisting the project management team when needed, particularly in relation to project preparation, coordination, and follow-up.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required qualifications and experience</strong></p><ul><li>University degree in business, international development, sustainability, environmental studies, economics, public policy, or another relevant field.</li><li>Master’s degree or ongoing postgraduate studies in a relevant field would be an asset.</li><li>Junior-level professional experience, internship experience, or academic experience related to business development, proposal writing, project coordination, international development, sustainability, or climate-related work.</li><li>Strong written and spoken English.</li><li>Spanish, French, or other languages would be an asset.</li><li>Good organizational, analytical, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently while coordinating with a small team.</li><li>Good knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar tools, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</li><li>Interest in climate change, sustainability, international cooperation, and development projects.</li><li>Experience with budgeting, donor-funded projects, proposal preparation, or international organizations would be considered an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul><li>A junior-level position with direct exposure to international sustainability and climate-related projects.</li><li>Opportunity to work with international organizations, technical experts, researchers, and partners from different countries and sectors.</li><li>Practical experience in business development, proposal writing, project design, and donor engagement.</li><li>A collaborative and international working environment.</li><li>Opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility over time.</li><li>Salary range between €20,000 and €27,000 gross per year, depending on experience.</li><li>Possibility of performance-based bonus.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Right to work in Spain</strong></p><p>Applicants must be legally authorized to live and work in Spain for the full duration of the employment period.
